We've wanted to host one for a while, and we're pleased to announce we'll be holding our first homebrew competition!
We're excited to be teaming up with one of our favourite mainstays of the Maritime beer scene, Propeller Brewing Co., and sponsored by two of our favourite Canadian suppliers, Escarpment Labs and JYM Line!
This year's theme will be strain specific, based around Escarpment's Voss Kveik. The competition will be open-style, and judged within BJCP style guidelines. This is a strain we've found to be pretty versatile, so we're eager to see what you can come up with! Grand prize will be a brew day at Propeller on their pilot system with additional prizes for 2nd, 3rd, and honourable mention.

Competition will run from April 5th when entry packs become available, with a submission deadline of May 17th.

Submission Guidelines
Recipe submission form can be found here, please have your recipe sheet filled out and emailed to us before picking up your entry pack or prior to shipping.
Entries will be limited to homebrewers from the Maritime provinces, to ensure everyone is on an even playing field we won't be accepting entries from those currently brewing professionally.
Entrants must supply at least 1L of packaged beer for judging. Entries can be dropped off at our shop in Lower Sackville, or either of Propeller's locations on Gottingen St. or Windmill Rd. Please ensure your bottles are clearly labelled so we can identify your entry.
Entries must be brewed as either all-grain or extract/partial mash
Entry fee of $25.00 includes your yeast ($11.99 value), a $10.00 voucher/discount code if you wish to purchase additional supplies, a glass courtesy of JYM Line, and a swag pack to be given out at the gala!
All entries will be reviewed according BJCP style guidelines and all entrants will receive a written score card with feedback by a BJCP qualified judge. Judging will take place over two rounds, the first round of judging will narrow down the finalists based on scoring, with the second round determining the placings based on consensus on which beer made best use of the yeast.

Event Info
Awards and prizes will be given out at the Propeller Taproom on Gottingen St. on May 31st.
Attendance will be limited to entrants and one guest, additional guests and members of the public will be permitted subject to capacity.
Optional: Feel free to bring some extra bottles! If you bring 6 bottles we'll be assembling some mixed packs to take home.
Swag packs and give aways!
