Black IPA Extract Recipe. A very hoppy, moderately strong and dark beer, this is a recent twist on the classic IPA. The use of American hops will give this beer a strong citrus and floral aroma and hop flavour while the dark malts will give a deep colour an a slight roasty nose. The high bitterness is balanced by the alcohol and very low maltiness.
This kit consists of Pale malt extract, Carafa Special and crystal malts with Magnum Hops for bittering and Cascade hops to provide flavour and aroma. The provided yeast is US-05 from Fermentis but you can upgrade to WLP001 liquid yeast (if available) from White Labs below.
The ingredient list and instructions will be provided with the kit. This is a beginner/intermediate kit and you must be comfortable with brewing extract with specialty grains to ensure success with this product. Please ensure you have all of the appropriate equipment for extract brewing prior to purchasing this kit. Although we provide instructions, we are not responsible for your brewing technique.
