Extra Special Bitter All-Grain Recipe. Commonly called an ESB, this beer has a deep gold colour and medium bitterness. Malt flavours with caramel notes support the bitterness but do not mask it. This beer has more complexity, body and alcohol than then English Ale.

This simple kit consists of Canadian 2-row and crystal malts. East Kent Goldings hops are used for bittering and flavouring. The provided yeast is S-04 from Fermentis but you can upgrade to WLP002 liquid yeast (if available) from White Labs below.

The ingredient list and instructions will be provided with the kit. For all-grain kits the instructions are limited to the hop addition schedule and suggested mash temperature. This is an advanced kit and you must be comfortable with brewing all-grain to ensure success with this product. Please ensure you are properly setup for all-grain brewing prior to purchasing this kit. Although we provide instructions, we are not responsible for your brewing technique.

This kit is designed to brew 1 gallons or approximately 3.8 litres. This is a perfect size for small test batches, or enough beer for that event or weekend.

  • Colour: 7 SRM
  • Bitterness: 33 IBUs
  • ABV: 4.9%

The grain in all of our kits comes crushed. This grain is good for 6-9 months if stored in a cool dry location. Please store the hops in the freezer if not brewing immediately
